PMEA for Healthcare and Social Service Providers

The Pleasurable Moment Enhancing Approach (PMEA) provides care providers with practical strategies to support people living with neurocognitive disorders in a positive, person-centered, and ability-focused way. By emphasizing enjoyment, preserved abilities, life experiences, and meaningful relationships, PMEA helps foster authentic and rewarding interactions.

The approach also helps reduce feelings of helplessness, strengthen caregivers’ sense of competence, and enhance job satisfaction by creating opportunities for connection, reciprocity, and shared well-being. Through everyday moments of pleasure and engagement, care providers can build more meaningful relationships while supporting the quality of life of those in their care.
